Jello Dashboard 4 preview 4

Happy New Year everyone!

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Today I’m posting the 4th preview release of version 4 (probably the last preview) which is pretty much workable at all fields.

The main addition to this version is the new master list which comes with its own settings. User preferences are now saved and all types of items (orphan tasks too) are displayed from the user selected stock of accessible outlook folders.

The second addition is the on-the-fly showing/hiding of past due items from calendar views (widget views too).

There will be some bugs I guess and I am waiting for your reports.

You can download Jello 4 preview 4 here.

[update] : If you tested the release yesterday and could not find your past due items into action and project lists, please re-download. There was a small bug which was fixed today ( sorry :( ).

  • Thanks so much :D

    Is there any way to have the past due items shown by default?

  • @Ian:That is too funny! Sorry DR Uqbar, you can’t make us all happy! Great work again. Cheers.

  • Thanks a lot for working so hard to make this great apps even better! Happy new year !!!

  • The new Master List is awesome! Great work on that one…

  • Still seeing some bug(?) on the operation of the “Next Action” function on the sidebar.
    Press Home or Reload and press “Next Action” on the sidebar = empty “Next Action” items. Press refresh and it will display your “Next Action” items. If you press Home or Reload and press Calendar then press “Next Action”, it will display your “Next Action” items.

    I’m using Outlook 2007.

    thanks,

  • Version 4 is looking good. Keep up the good work.

    Couple of issues…I have a project with over 30 actions assigned to it. When I click the the project from the sidebar it only shows the first 15 actions and does not show the total number of actions or the Next>> link. If I then tick ‘show not started’ the Displaying 1-15 shows with the Next>> link, but some of the completed items are still remaining.

  • @Ian
    Not yet, but there will be a setting!

    @kivumanzi ;)

    @Anjo
    Is next actions with Due dates???
    because that was a liiitle bug!

    @Mark
    I have to investigate on that

  • Hi dr uqbar,

    same issue as reported by mark in “manage mode” for projects. There are no Next>> or > Application Settings >> List Page Size – increase this value (50 might be a good value)

  • Great job. Raaapid.
    HTA bugs though

  • dr Uqbar,

    This application keeps getting better and better with every release.

    I have a minor requeriment, I would like to increase the size of the text in some of the screens of the dashboard. Is there anyway I can do this? Would you consider adding this option in the configuration panel?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

    This app is by far the best add-on I have ever seen / used for Outlook. i cannot wait to use the next update. Some time ago I expressed wish of somehow beinig able to display the series of tasks on a timeline to give a deeper perspective of deadlines in time. As possibility I hinted the Ajax timeline of http://simile.mit.edu/timeline/ . Is this something you are planning / considering ?

    thanks,
    m.

  • Love the new version but I do have a bug when opening the master list. I am getting the following error: Cannot Parse Condition. Error at “@SQL=http://schemas.microsoft.com/mapi/i…”
    Code 4096

  • Great work!

    I get an error, when I click on “Accessible Outlook folders”.

    Thanks

  • great! An excellent productivity tool…I am experiencing an issue with the Today widget…it shows many of my tasks/calendar items as past due when they are not…only future items are show as not being past due. present/current items are show past due as well. I know this is an alpha preview….but it’s a great show of the final RC to come! Keep it up!

  • I am having the same issue as javabean.
    Thanks for all your work on this project!

  • Hi,

    I just realized I always get an error when trying to insert a task using the text input field at the bottom of the Home page. The error is the following:
    Internet Explorer Script Error
    Line 197
    Char 44
    Error ‘body’ is undefined
    Code: 0
    URL: outlook.today

    I typed in:
    +test test,@in

    LA

  • Excellent tool, thanks Dr. Uqbar!

    I have one feature request (I think I read it in one of the posts before). In order to have my Inbox as small as possible it would be great if I set a ‘waiting for’ to a mail it would be automatically moved into a defined Outlook folder. Thanks!

  • @Thomas
    I will check that out. Thanks.

    @Dimitri
    I will check HTA after version completion. In the meantime you can report specific bugs!

    @Luis L.
    You can edit the style.css file and play with the font sizes. I will try to add something like this. Thanks.

    @mduran
    I’ve checked this link a long time agio but unfortunately I’ve found it far too complicated to add it into my code. So Its not in my priority list for now.

    @Andy
    Maybe a folder is missing. This must be related with the deleted folders-but-into-the-jello-stock problem which I’ve fixed and will post with the next release. Try to rename your journal entry. Do you still have this issue?

    @Michael
    I think is the same bug as above. Try the next release please.

    @javabean
    This has been fixed too but I would be greatful if you would test it upon the preview release 5.

    @Jon
    Thank you. So you are on the waiting list too.

    @Luis L.
    That’s a good bug. Thanks! It will be fixed.

    @Andre O.
    You can do this, but it is not clear (you are right on this)

    Just create a new context with the same name as your waiting context (see your settings for that) and set its folder or other properties.

  • Thanks, I renamed my journal entry and this resolved the error until I went into manage under the master list. If I select show next items only it goes back to the same error and the journal entry needs to be renamed again.

    Thanks again for the great work.

  • @drUqbar

    Thanks for looking into the timeline thing. I actually discovered that there is a “task timeline” view within Outlook ! this is perfect for me.

  • In the download for preview 4 the install.htm is probably not included!?! Thank you for all work!

  • @Andy
    Show next items only? In which screen is this? Could you be more specific, because it seems like a serious problem.

    @mduran
    Glad you did!

    @rene
    I’ve included the install.hta into the preview release 5. I probably forgot about it! Thank you.

  • The issue is in the master list screen using the manage button and selecting “Show only next actions” I downloaded preview 5 and confirmed that it still happens on the latest rev.

    Thanks

  • Still seeing problem with the displayed time during the period between 12 Noon and 1 PM. The time is appearing as “AM” when it should be “PM.”

    But I’m liking this more all the time. Thanks and keep up the good work.

    You're my hero, Nicolas! I've read the GTD book and love the concept but never felt the need to use it until now. I'm getting swamped and forgetting a lot of tasks. I also use MS Outlook 2007 extensively so that's why I would like to thank you in advance for a great product! (I know it's a great product"
