Blog updates and news.
I have finally managed to do some coding work and fix various problems that have been reported. I have also added a few features numbering this beta version as 4.5.
Changes in short:
*Outlook 2007 users will now have the ability to have an updated context/project list into their standard category list.
*Jello can work with priorities now, displaying a red box in front of high priority tasks and a gray one for low-pri ones remember the milk style. You can sort items by priority too and toggle high/normal priority with a new action (y-shortcut key).
*Fixed plenty of calendar bugs although some next day items might be still shown.
*The Review screen now is not showing only items tagged with the review context but includes all items residing into the Review folder too!
*Managed to remove some characters from the restricted list for context and project names: * and + so you need to test those!
*Clicking the current list’s name on sidebar reloads the list fully.
*Added a Go to folder action on the tools section of the sidebar which helps you navigate on-the-fly to a specific outlook folder. This will be a sidebar treeview section in a later version. Thanks justauser for the nice code on this.
*Added homepage inbox widget autorefresh every 3 minutes (default) and a settings for this (again thanks to justauser for code)
*It is now final: The outlook view control cannot handle keyboard shortcuts as it does not expose key trapping events (this is a major drawback I know)
Thanks everyone for your donations, help, questions and requests. You keep this project alive!
Please download, take some time to test the new version and have fun!

"I have been on my GTD journey for about 2 years now and I've being trying so many different approaches, some with Outlook add-ins, hand-carved customisation in Outlook, standalone programs, iPad and Mac apps. Nothing ever quite fitted my method of working (supporting IT for many different customers with lots of projects).
For a couple of days now I have been transforming my system over to the Jello approach and liking almost all I've found so far. It just fits the way I want to work. You have covered so many features and ideas that have been missing from other" - Read more testimonials »

Hello,
I know it´s not related with beta 4.5 (the problem is also hapening with 4.3 after migration to vista from Windows 200 keeping Outlook 2003).
But I´m getting the following:
Line: 5499
Char:2
Error: An OLE registration error occurred. The program is not correctly installed. Run Setup again for the program
Code:4096
URL: outlook:today
Would you be able to help me ? I can just work with Jello Home light or Old Jello Home.

I just installed this version. (never had a previous version, just found out about it (and it looks very cool))
I had originally had office2k — so I got the “can only be opened in outlook” error.
So I installed OfficeXP, and uninstalled, and reinstalled, Jello.
I have it assigned, as my homepage in Outlook XP, and I am still getting the same message. “Cannot run outside of Outlook
Just assign it as a home page to an Outlook folder”
Any idea’s? Might I have better luck trying the 4.3 beta?

We have different versions of outlook, you just upgraded to vista, and your error message is different. There is a very high chance, we are not experiencing the same bug.
I don’t think that just because your error happens with 4.3 as well, necessarily means that my error, would also happen in 4.3.
Does anyone else have any input on this?

@Caballero:
lol — whoops — I thought your comment, was after mine, and so I thought you were answering my question – saying that mine didn’t have to do with 4.5/4.3.
I realize now, you commented before me, and it just hadn’t showed up yet when I posted.

Hello Ben,
I manage to fix my problem: I went to settings and made a reset it’s working
the problem is that I need to create the contexts and projects again
but that is a low price to pay. I realize I can’t work anymore without Jello.
Nicolas you’re a genius …thank you for your good software and fast support.

how do you get into settings? I can’t get it to run at all.

Hello Ben,
would you please describe step by step how did you make the installation ?
I would guess you should verify the properties from the folder were you made the installation and verify if you have something like that:
file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/sergio/My%20Documents/Unzipped/JelloDash43/jelloDash.htm
Try to copy the address to your Explorer and check what happens.

I ran the install file — and when the window came up and asked me I clicked the link, and chose a folder for the home page to be displayed in.
The current home page says
“file:///C:/Program%20Files/JelloDashboard/jelloDash.htm”
When put in Internet Explorer, I get a few warnings, about activex controls, which i click “ok/allow” for. Then I get the same message as i get in outlook.
“Cannot run outside of Outlook
Just assign it as a home page to an Outlook folder”
I notice that my home page address is not in the MyDocs folder as you suggest. I do have my “My Documents” folder set to another location, than the usual “C:/Documents%20and%20Settings//”
(You know how you can right click My Documents on start menu, and pick a different location. — The location of my docs folder is “X:\`my docs”
So the “My Documents” that displays on the start menu and above “My Computer” in explorer, points to “X:\`my docs”
However there is also a “My Documents” folder in
“C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/ben/”
The only thing in there though, is some folder for this other program I have, that must have used,
“%userprofile%\My Documents” instead of “CSIDL_MYDOCUMENTS”
Let me know what you think — or if you need any more info from me. I am willing to troubleshoot if you would like.

Just upgraded to this version. I still haven’t tried it all out, but you apparently did a great job!
I see you’ve used some PNG icons, which look good, except on IE6 because of the PNG transparency issue. So, I just wanted to suggest adding one of those little pngfix JS files, which should make it work fine on IE browsers prior to IE7.
Keep up the good work!
