Jello Dashboard preview 5

Hello again,

There is another preview version available. The main reason was the calendar past due dates bug but I got the chance to correct lots of other stuff as well.

  • Widget list items (except outlook folder lists) are now sorted by due date by default.
  • The state of the sidebar (shown/hidden) is now saved
  • The next>> disappearing bug in manage context/projects was restored
  • The Assign to… move checkbox last state is now saved
  • Title bar was moved a little higher to have more space
  • New title png icons from the crystal project were added.
  • Add task by command error was corrected
  • An icon for outlook item attachments was added
  • Permanently deleted outlook folders (and in jello stock) bug was fixed.
  • Links errors in renaming and deleting were fixed (test this one twice)
  • Private contexts/projects are now marked gray on the sidebar
  • Actions are first sorted by status and then by the selected sort method
  • Tasks with length more than 50chars are now marked correctly as done
  • New setting for year showing on dates
  • Added combo to select context/project in customize home screen.
  • Search box faster and looking only into accessible folders
  • Recently edited list now shows completed tasks too
  • Show all action was added at the bottom of multi-page action lists
  • German file update by Joern
  • Added setting to show past dues by default.

Thank you for your testing and bug reports. I think Jello is getting a little better!

  • [update 17/1/08]: vcalendar image error fixed. Please re-download zip file.

  • Thanks a lot for this fantastic tool. Your tool bring me back to outlook.

  • Just a quick note: Links items on the sidebar are not working. I’m getting the following:

    Line 0
    Unterminated String Constant

    Line: 1
    Char: 14
    Error: Unterminated String Constant
    Code: 0
    URL: Outlook Today

    thanks,

  • Thanks for the many updates. Jello is really starting to help me doing my job without forgetting things.

  • Thanks for the update.

    I still get an error, when I try to change the “Accessible Outlook folders”.

    Is there a way to manually change to folders, Jello Dashboard is using? Then i could go on testing …?

    Best regards
    Michael

  • Another quick note:

    There’s no icon for the calendar function. The program is calling for vcalendar.gif. What’s available on the img folder is vcalendar.png

    thanks,

  • Just enjoyed it. Thanks.

  • System: WXP 32bits – Outlook 2007 – Both spanish versions.
    Jello 4 preview 5
    Problem description:
    If I create a project, appears an error box with:
    “Error en tiempo de ejecución. ¿Desea depurarlo? Línea: 1658 – Error: ‘projects’ no está definido.
    If I delete a project, the message is:
    1032 – Error: ‘projects’ no está definido.

    This problem is on Jello 3.50 too. Any help?

    Thanks a lot! Is a great tool, keep working :-)

  • @bbchen
    I’m glad! :D

    @Anjo
    Links were redesigned a bit. If you don’t want to reset your settings, go to settings and click the Manage button. Select your active settings set and find the SWebs entry. Clear it to remove all links and save.

    @Christophe Vandeplas
    Many updates until the final release!

    @Michael
    I’ve emailed you on that!

    @Anjo
    Thanks. Its fixed now.

    @Dimitri :D

    @Antonio
    This is strange! I need to investigate.
    Thank you.

  • Great program – have been using it for awhile now
    I have the same problem as Micheal’s post- error messege when trying to access “Accessable Outlook Folders” says this has been deleted??

  • Jello is excellent, I am enjoying it very muchl. THanks for your efforts.

    I am running Vista (Spanish) with OUtlook 2007.

    When clicking Next Action (in the first line of the Dashboard) I get this error (I am translating from Spanish):

    An error has occurred in the script on this page
    Line: 6785
    Character: 4
    Error: Non valid interval in character set
    Code: 0
    URL : Outlook:hoy (which means Outlook: today)

    Is it a bug or a problem with my configuration?
    Take Care,

  • Hello!
    Great programm! One Question:
    I can’t link Journal entries or Notes to Projects/Contexts. In Version 3.5 is this possible and you can see all outlook items (mails, notes, Tasks, journal) in the project view.
    Is it a bug or a problem with my configuration?
    Thank you!
    Thomas

  • The “Today” menu on the home page will not display items in the day past around 2:00pm but will show yesterday’s items as past due. I can only see today’s late items by scrolling the date through to tomorrow. This is a fantastic product that has redeemed Outlook.

  • Just starting with the tool, sounds interesting. I am working in a big company that has implemented MS Exchange with outlook clients. Some questions :
    1. Same question as Thomas (Q11) : Need to see outlook items in Project view (and prior to that how to assign a “note” or a “contact” to a Project
    2. Please confirm that I should not use JD to process my outlook Inbox (on the server) or other folders that are on ther server ?
    3. In that case should I forget about JD ? or do I need to archive all my incoming mails to use JD on archived folders ?
    4. Does it make sense to combine JD with GTD Outlook add-in tool from D.Allen co ?
    5. How about JD vs Taglocity ? (complementary or competition)
    thanks for your responses

  • @Michelle
    I have to build a reset button for this…
    The only thing you can do now, is reset your settings.
    If you can edit jello settings (Setings>Manage) you can find the SIncludeFolders setting and empty its contents.
    Apparently you added a folder into jello and then deleted it. This works better in jello 4.2.

    @EquipoTigre
    I really have no idea! Its the first time I even see this error.
    Must have to do with your outlook folders used by Jello. Any unusual character in those?

    @Thomas
    Notes cannot be added to projects or contexts because Outlook does not allow their categorization (you can do it manually though assigning the project as category to the note).
    Journal entries should work though. Have you added the journal entries folder into your outlook accessible folders?

    @John Sexton
    Unfortunately I could not reproduce this. Yet!

    @Hani
    1. Answered to Thomas…

    2. You can do this if you want, but I cannot support you (no knowledge of the environment)

    3. You can use any folder you want. Maybe Jello will be slower if used in server folders.

    4. Don’t know. I’ve never used it.

    5. Some people have successfully combined jello and taglocity.
    regards

  • Error: Unterminated String Constant
